(Founded in 2010, Not So Popular are an events platform focused on empowering women in the arts. They have put on many events – from running feminist clubnight $ister $ister, to hosting panel debates and an affordable arts night Poetry For A Pound. Their new series PEAKS combines art, talks and DJS to create a place for people to discuss their ideas, with a drink in hand.
Their publications range from zines to art books, and in 2013, the team were involved in creating the book Let’s Start A Pussy Riot – a non profit endeavour to raise awareness and funds of the Pussy Riot case. Featuring artists and writers such as Yoko Ono and Kim Gordon, the book was published by Rough Trade and launched in London and New York.)
